Description

Principal Investigators Ulf Dettmer and Nagendran Ramalingam in the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases, Brigham & Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, jointly invite applications from recent graduates for two fully NIH-funded postdoc positions to study the pathophysiology of α-synuclein. The research projects will focus on a) understanding the physiology of Ser129 phosphorylated α-synuclein “pS129” in vivo; and b) understanding the role of pS129 on pathological spreading of α-synuclein aggregation in vivo. The ideal candidate with strong animal work experience will work with novel knock-in mouse models that have been generated for these projects. Both projects are relevant for Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia.

A competitive salary will be provided.

Requirements

Candidates must have extensive experience working with mice. Prior experience in survival surgery or electrophysiology is highly desirable. Candidates with demonstrated expertise and publications in molecular biology, biochemistry, and imaging are encouraged to apply.
