2025 Rainwater Prize

Award: Nominations for the 2025 Rainwater Prizes are being solicited via peer and self-nominations. The Rainwater Prize recognizes outstanding scientists who have either made significant discoveries, or who are early in their career with innovative ideas in neurodegenerative research.

Science & SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists

Sponsor: Science/AAAS and SciLifeLab

Award: Eligible entrants must have been awarded their doctoral degree in 2022 or 2023. The grand prize winner will receive a prize of US$30,000; each of the three category winners will receive US$10,000. The grand prize-winning essay will be published in Science and essays from the three category winners will be published online.

NIH Directors Pioneer Award Program (DP1 Clinical Trial Optional) (RFA-RM-24-002)

Sponsor: National Institutes of Health

Award: NIH intends to commit approximately $8,000,000 in FY 2025 to fund approximately 7 awards. Awards will be for $700,000 in Direct Costs per year, plus applicable Facilities and Administrative costs (F&A). The project period is limited to five years.

NIH Directors New Innovator Award Program (DP2 Clinical Trial Optional) (RFA-RM-24-003)

Sponsor: National Institutes of Health

Award: NIH intends to commit approximately $37.7 million for approximately 30 awards in FY 2025. Awards will be in two multi-year segments, the first of three years followed by a segment of two years. The three-year segment will have an award budget up to $900,000 in Direct Costs. The two-year segment will have an award budget up to $600,000 in Direct Costs. For each segment applicable Facilities and Administrative costs (F&A) should be added. Project periods will be for five years.

NIH Directors Transformative Research Awards (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) (RFA-RM-24-004)

Sponsor: National Institutes of Health

Award: NIH intends to commit approximately $8 million in FY 2025 and make approximately 7 awards, depending on the size and scope of the most meritorious awards. Application budgets are not limited but must be commensurate with the scope of the proposed research. The maximum project period is five years.
