Description

A postdoctoral position is available under the mentorship of Saranna Fanning and Dennis Selkoe at Harvard Medical School and Brigham & Women’s Hospital to study the molecular basis of Parkinson’s disease and translational research toward therapeutic targets. The lab studies the dynamics of α-synuclein and lipid pathways.

The work includes lipidomics, metabolomics and protein biochemistry in multiple cellular models of Parkinson’s disease with a focus on patient-derived iPSCs.

The position is available immediately.

Brigham and Women’s Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Ph.D., ideally in the areas of biochemistry, protein biology or lipid metabolism. Applicants should have direct productivity in these fields as shown by peer-reviewed journal publications. Deep experience with cell culture, biochemistry, and molecular biology is essential, and neuronal culture/iPSC experience is advantageous.

The project will be labor-intensive and requires a highly experienced scientist with evidence of productivity and an eye for detail.
