Description

BBRC is looking for a Clinical Data Analyst with a special interest in research and scientific tasks. This is a full-time position and the person selected will join the fluid biomarkers and translational neurology research group in the context of the European AD-RIDDLE project and will report to the fluid biomarkers and translational neurology group leader and the head of the research management office. AD-RIDDLE is a European-funded multinational project that is set to revolutionize Alzheimer's disease management in healthcare settings through its innovative tool box platform. This initiative introduces community outreach tools for AD prevention awareness, incorporates clinically validated biomarkers for early AD detection (digital cognitive tools and blood-based biomarkers), and will develop and validate algorithms to identify individuals who can benefit from new preventive therapies. AD-RIDDLE aims to simplify and enhance the detection, prevention, and treatment of AD, marking a significant advancement in healthcare practices. The AD-RIDDLE clinical data analyst will be responsible to manage, organize, harmonize the data of the real-world testing of blood-based biomarkers and digital cognitive assessments from the cohorts at BBRC. He or she will also participate in the development of predictive algorithms for early diagnosis, based on this data. The candidate will also coordinate the tasks of BBRC in this project and ensure that all the milestones are reached.

The responsibilities for this position include:

  • Prepare the framework and develop a protocol for harmonized real-world testing of blood-based biomarkers across different clinical sites.
  • Develop a protocol to conduct real-world testing and analyses of data of digital cognitive biomarkers.
  • Coordinate the prospective validation of blood-based biomarkers in early symptomatic patients and in preclinical AD; analyze and report the accuracy and robustness of the blood-based biomarkers.
  • Assess the impact of blood-based biomarkers on the diagnostic work-up, compared to the “care-as-usual.”
  • Prepare dataset to share with the study partners.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and data quality control procedures.
  • Participate, together with other study partners, in the development of a predictive algorithm for early diagnosis and decision support tool kit to inform decision-making in early preventive therapies.
  • Generate qualitative and quantitative reports.
  • Perform scientific data analyses and support the project researchers.
  • Write deliverables, scientific publications, etc.

Requirements

Qualifications and professional experience

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in data science, biostatistics, analytics, or big data (this position could be covered by a postdoc with a Ph.D. or could eventually allow the realization of a PhD within the ADRIDDLE project).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Expertise with clinical data.
  • Experience in the development of loading, cleaning and harmonization processes.
  • Experience in integration and harmonization of clinical data.
  • Experience in data mining and knowledge of data mining tools.
